Time to trend... Spring 2012!

It's finally here! Winter always seems like the longest few months and when March hits, I'm ready to go shopping for all of Springs hottest trends!  Spring 2012 is all about infusing your wardrobe with bright colors and graphic prints.  Here is a list of my favorite trends for the season, share below what trends interest you and what kind of pieces you think you're going to add to your Spring shopping list!

Tangerine!
It's the most popular color for Spring 2012! It's everywhere and put on everything! Colored jeans are continuing to be a huge trend, so let me make it easy for you... add that perfect pop of color to your wardrobe with tangerine cropped jeans! Pair a white top or a contrast colored blouse for a color blocking affect, and you've hit two trends in one outfit.  If you don't think you can go as far as rocking a bold pant, try a tangerine hand bag, wedges or an anorak style jacket!

Bold Colors:
Neons & bright colors!  Hot pink, cobalt blue, yellow and tangerine are only a few of the many eye catching colors that are big for spring & summer.  Since color blocking is still big, pair bold, solid-colored pieces with any contrast color to make a statement and sport this seasons trend.

Graphic Prints:
Vibrant prints are EVERYWHERE and used on EVERYTHING this season! Geometric Prints, Polka Dots & Large Floral Prints to name a few. Don't limit yourself, step outside your comfort zone by trying prints that you typically aren't drawn to. Prints are especially huge this season in pants, denim and accessories.  Graphic bags, shoes & even sunglasses are a great way to add the print trend into every outfit!

TOMS: Spring 2012!

You don't have to be a ballerina to wear ballet flats, and you don't have to look like a mess to be comfortable.  Everyone should own a pair of TOMS & every woman should own a pair of ballet flats. So here's where I'll make it easy for you... the TOMS brand is releasing BALLET FLATS in Spring 2012!

I am personally, extremely excited about this addition to the TOMS family... not only are their shoes stylish & comfortable, but their slogan that they stand by is: "With every pair you purchase, TOMS will give a pair of new shoes to a child in need.  One for One."

Do your self a favor by getting a fabulous new pair of TOMS, while helping a child in need gain a new pair of shoes.  Check out www.toms.com for more information & sign up to be contacted when the TOMS ballet flats are officially released.

Look good, for a great cause.

Naked, again?

Every woman should own neutral eye shadows, whether you wear makeup on a daily basis or not.  A neutral eye is great for any occasion and works well with every skin tone.  My favorite neutral eye shadows are from my Urban Decay palette.  Owning a palette with matte and shimmer infused, neutral shadows is something that is easy to use and convenient, especially when traveling.

Urban Decay is an edgy cosmetic company, popular amongst makeup lovers every where.  A couple years ago they released 'Naked', a neutral eye shadow palette that sold out INSTANTLY.  Only until a couple months ago, it was still difficult to find, and at some stores, was still on back order.  It is a cult favorite, and it seems every makeup collector owns this palette.

I have to say, I own it, and I love it.  The shades are great and provides versatility, giving you many looks in one easy palette. The shadows go on smooth, are extremely pigmented, long lasting and they blend very well.  But don't get too excited just yet, it gets better.

Here it is, the most anticipated sequel to a cult favorite, The NAKED 2 palette!

FOXY, HALFBAKED, BOOTYCALL, CHOPPER, TEASE, SNAKEBITE, SUSPECT, PISTOL, VERVE, YDK, BUSTED, BLACKOUT

The new palette is packed with 12 pigment-rich, taupe and greige neutral eye shadows, including five new shades. The palette offers shadows ranging from pale to deep and matte to shimmer.

I think it was extremely smart of Urban Decay to create and release a Naked 2 palette. The first palette was a huge success and many who own it, will go on to purchase this one, and again, will probably be on back order and difficult to find for quite some time.

If you have not already purchased the first Naked palette, I would suggest to try and get your hands on the 2, everybody needs a neutral eye palette and why not get the new version of it?  As for me, I think I will wait until I put a bigger dent in my original until I purchase the 2. I have seen swatches online and there is one new shade that really intrigues me, the matte black, named BLACKOUT. The palette is currently being sold on UrbanDecay.com for $50, but is said that their first shipment is only 5,000 pieces, so act fast!

Here's to getting Naked, again!

Spring into Chanel...

Let's take a break from the cold weather & our holiday mind set, let's think SPRING!  Chanel Spring, to be exact.  Every fall & winter, designers are hard at work in preparation for their spring collections, while fashion lovers everywhere are anticipating the arrival of all the new trends. Here is something to hold you over... a sneak peak into Chanel's S/S 2012 Le Vernis Nail Colour collection.

There are three colors being released in January for the Spring collection.  April, May & June.  April is a red, garnet color, May is a light rosey pink and June, a creamy pastel apricot shade (probably the one I am most excited for).

I'm a huge fan of Chanel's nail colours & some have more hype than others.  The interest in this collection is already pretty big, so I suggest if you love any of the following, to run to the nearest Chanel or department store the day they are released!

Happy Holidays, happy Chanel... happy girl.

Leopard print, EVERYTHING!

The animal print trend has been ongoing for quite some time, but the leopard & cheetah print is a favorite of mine & is all over right now.  Wallets, clutches, hand bags, belts, scarves, jeans, heels, wedges, flats, cardigans, blouses, tights, coats, EVERYTHING! Be subtle with the neutrals or go bold with the colors, all that matters is that you rock some leopard this season!

All I ask is that you won't go over board, it is not necessary nor encouraged to wear a leopard print cardigan belted with a leopard print belt, while rocking leopard print ballet flats & carrying a leopard print hand bag. Make this trend your POP piece.  Sport it with solids (of any color) and do not mix with any other prints.

Here are what some designers have come up with this season:

Tory Burch Roxana Cardigan $295

Tory Burch Foundation Cheetah Scarf $125

This Tory Burch crimson cheetah print cardi & fuchsia scarf adds that perfect pop of color while utilizing this bold trend this season.

Tory Burch is one of my favorites and this season she offers almost anything you could possibly want in leopard and cheetah print!  I'm OBSESSED with Tory's ballet flats, especially for fall & winter. Recently I found THE PERFECT leopard print shoe on her website and am anticipating the arrival of this gorgeous little piece of heaven within 3-5 business days... pictures to come, do not fret.

Sperry Top-Sider® 'Skiff' Moccasin $59

The loafer and moccasin trend is huge right now, why not purchase it in leopard print? The clear sequins also adds a little something extra to this classic shoe.  Pair these with a dark skinny or straight leg jean & a solid color top & your outfit is complete.

Current/Elliott 'The Stiletto' Leopard Print Stretch Jeans $198

Every one should own a pair of leopard print skinnies, right? I'm kidding... this is obviously not for everyone but with the right shoe & confidence, you're sure to turn heads and rock this trend in one of the most daring ways possible!

Nordstrom 'Animal' Wool & Cashmere Tissue Wrap $98

Fina Firenze 'Leopard - Skinny' Calf Hair Belt $38

Here is an alternative to the bold and eye popping trend.  Accessorize with a cheetah print scarf in a neutral color scheme or a basic skinny belt to add a little fun to any outfit.

Gallery Faux Leopard Fur Jacket $158

Faux Fur Leopard? YES PLEASE! We already went over how HUGE the faux fur trend is this season, but I've been seeing A LOT of it in the leopard print as well.  I say why not? You only live once!

Yves Saint Laurent 'Cabas Chyc' Satchel $2795

House of Harlow 1960 'Orlina' Box Clutch $225

This is my favorite; the cheetah print hand bag, wallet or clutch!  This YSL hand bag is a beautiful way to add this trend into your wardrobe.  Other brands like Kate Spade, Tory Burch & Michael Kors offer pieces in the cheetah print as well.

Sam Edelman 'Wilma' Bootie $160 (Image Sources:ToryBurch.com & Nordstrom.com)

The 'bootie' is a big trend this season, but this Sam Edelman wedge bootie in the leopard print does it all for me!  I've seen the leopard print on almost every shoe style possible, if the bootie isn't your thing, try it in a ballet flat, loafer, or a simple wedge.

Everything is possible.  Be fierce.
